Studio Balkandji

Studio Balkandji was founded in 1998. In 2008 the studio was relocated to a new facility in Reduta, Sofia – Studio A. Shortly after its opening, studio Balkanji marked several emblematic productions among which are Concha Buika’s concert and Vakali’s Drum and Dance performance at the National Palace of Culture’s Hall 1, the operas Tosca, Rigoletto and The Tales of Hoffmann, Yuvigi’s full-length albums Grey Desert and From First Person Point of View, alongside all released Balkandji albums.

In 2009 a second studio was opened in Lozenets, Sofia. It was relocated in 2011 to New Bulgarian University – Studio B.

Our team of professionals at studio Balkanji has worked on many large-scale concerts including foreign artists of world renown such as Goran Bregovic, U.D.O., Nigel Kennedy, Lizz Wright, Stacey Kent, Lisa Gerrard, Mo Horizon and others.

Over the years we have successfully worked with various Bulgarian artists, including Maria Ilieva, Stefan Valdobrev, Kamen Donev, Beloslava, Ruth Koleva, Milenita, Georgi Hristov, Santimental Swingers, The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices, Ivo Papazov, Neshka Robeva and more.

Studio Balkandji also worked with many music bands, including Corecom, Overgame, Skre4, Mystica, Abstraction, No More Many More, Vendetta, Yuvigi, Mind Trips and others.

Here at studio Balkanji we have produced several traditional Bulgarian folklore albums, including Evridika Vocal Trio, Tsvetnitsa Orchestra (multiple projects), Samodivski Ogyn – Stoyko Vasilev and others.

Since 2016 our team has been working hard to provide the best possible solutions for classical concerts and performances (Madam Butterfly, Swan Lake, Viva L’Operetta, Giselle, Trubadour, Othello, Carmen, Orpheus and Eurydice, The Power of Fate, Rigoletto, Aida, Falstaff and others), including all editions of the Opera Open Festival – Plovdiv.

Studio Balkandji has had the pleasure to work with stars such as Hye-Youn Lee, Alexandrina Pendachanska, Joanna Parisi, Kamen Chanev, Antonio Giovannini, Carlos Almager, Kiril Manolov, Sonya Yoncheva, Jose Cura, Angela Georgiou, Elina Garancha, Juan Diego Flores and many others.

The studio works together with the Plovdiv State Opera on the performances “Maria of Buenos Aires” and “Evita”.

Since its inception 22 years ago, studio Balkandji has produced over 100 albums and trained over 120 students.
